Instructions

  • MISSION CRITICAL - You MUST be logged into Vista / Win7 / Win8 as the Administrator and in Administrator Mode for FreX16 to install correctly. FreX16 will have errors if installed into a user account.

  • FreX software is special interest and "not in common use" Scientific/Engineering grade software.

    It contains propriety, high-performance ActiveX libraries for scientific and engineering studies. Your virus scanners will not know about it and report it as a possible threat. FreX software is 100% virus and malware free and to access it you will have to give permission to your virus scanning software.

  • Before installing FreX16 "frex16-20130516.exe" back-up your FreX16 database file frex.db if you have made changes and wish to keep them. However, every time you run FreX16 it will make a back-up of your database file in the database backup folder.

  • When prompted in the FreX16 setup program, make sure Uninstall Older Version is selected. By default it will be selected for you.

  • If you have calibrated your audio system, then back-up the file frex.cal which contains the calibration data. We don't want to loose this.

  • FreX16 uninstall will not remove saved program files (files with the extension .prg) ... nor will the license file be removed nor will it remove your FreX16 database back-up files.

  • Download FreX16 database. A "zip" file that will require unzipping to your FreX folder. If you have accidently deleted frequency sets from your FreX16 database, then you can download this master database file.

stdole2.tib - part of OLE-AUT fileset that complements MFC and Visual Basic run-time.
tabctl32.ocx - tabbed control library for some utilites in FreX.
comdlg.ocx - microsoft's common dialog access library for connection to Windows functions.
